AMFIT FOOT ORTHOTICS
Lethbridge Orthotic-Prosthetic Services uses the advanced computerized Amfit CAD/CAM system for creating custom arch supports. With this system, a digital 3D map of your foot is used to create custom-made foot orthotics for each individual’s feet. The digital precision of the Amfit creates a superior fit for maximum mobility and pain relief. This is just what the doctor ordered for many common foot ailments like plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, and hammer toes.
AMFIT INSOLE FABRICATION SYSTEM
After a thorough assessment and evaluation by our clinicians, an image of your feet will be taken. This image will then be modified according to your particular prescription and then downloaded to the main system where it will be milled. After milling of the orthotics, final touches are made such as adding a cosmetic top cover and trimming to fit in your shoes. The process is very efficient and you can have your new custom-made foot orthotics the next working day!
Our custom-made foot orthotics are fabricated using ethyl vinyl acetate, the same material used for most athletic shoes’ soling. The semi-rigid EVA allows for firm support and correction, while allowing flexibility and shock absorption. These unique features mean that many foot problems can be effectively treated without reducing activity. Various densities are available to address individual needs.
